GeoSatSignal version 7 trial notes

Starting the trial

There have been some problems testing the new GeoSatSignal 7 release as it requires a new licence. As with my other software, there is a 30-day trial built-in, but it appears that you may need to re-enter your version 6 licence after the trial if you want to revert to version 6.

The following steps are recommended:

Before you start, copy all the files in your existing GeoSatSignal directory to another directory for safe-keeping. Remember that, if you use Windows Explorer, the default is to move files to another directory (on the same disk) and not to copy the files. So I suggest you copy to a different disk or to a memory stick.
Ensure that you have you existing GeoSatSignal 6 licence key to hand. Check, using Help Register, that you hardware fingerprint is unchanged, otherwise you may need a new licence key from me.
Install GeoSatSignal 7 from the download above. Note that this is a full install program and not just the usual updated .EXE file from a normal beta. This is because of the large number of new files required.
Run GeoSatSignal 7.

At this point, unless you have bought and installed a GeoSatSignal 7 licence, you will get a dialog like this:

If you have already bought a key, press Yes to enter the new key.
If you want to continue with the 30-day trial, press No.

Restoring your old version

Should you not wish to upgrade, and revert to your existing version of GeoSatSignal, please follow these steps:

Check that your backup of the original files is OK!
Delete all the files in your GeoSatSignal directory.
Copy the files you backed up into the GeoSatSignal directory.
Run GeoSatSignal, and re-enter your existing licence key to restore full operation.
Note that if your hardware fingerprint has changed, you may need a fresh licence key.

Upgrade licencing

GeoSatSignal 7 is a new product with many enhancements over GeoSatSignal 6, and consequently a new licence key is required should you wish to use the new facilities. For existing users, there is a reduced price upgrade option available.

If you bought GeoSatSignal 6 after 2008-Jan-01 you are entitled to a free upgrade to GeoSatSignal 7. Please contact me with your current hardware fingerprint for a new licence key.
